In the 19th century Ilkley became a very popular spa town. Visitors flocked to White Wells Waters to bathe in the cold baths, legend to have healing properties. The natural spring water still flows, however visitors today prefer to drop a coin in the waters to wish for health, love & happiness.
Ilkley is highly regarded for its stylish architecture and award winning flowers. With tree lined streets, quality shops and award winning tea room “Bettys” a must for traditional afternoon tea. Ilkley also hosts a large number of excellent restaurants and a perfectly preserved Victorian arcade. As well as beautiful river and moorland walks.
